re: 2014-09-22 version of Manifest builder

  • for icon sizes the notes mention (correctly) about the minimum size requirements but the page itself (incorrectly) implies a 512 is required. Can it be reworded to make clear our recommendation vs. the requirement? Will there be a dropdown after the path for the developer to indicate the size?
  • orientation works on Android too
  • fullscreen works on other platforms - Desktop at least (I'm not sure about Android).

Choosing app type in step 1: Choosing right on the first page the type seems reverse as the permissions list and therefor the impact of that decision isn't even visible. We could show permissions, grouped by level and adjust app type accordingly.

Use cases for packaged vs hosted: Packaged is a great model for games, as they have a lot of assets. If you just submit your existing mobile website (very common case!), hosted is fine. Maybe we can add some common use cases so users can identify their goal and choose correctly.

App icon: Didn't we talk before about automatic resizing for icons?

Recommendations for optional settings: Apps often request fullscreen or locked orientation without good reason. Mostly games should request fullscreen. I'd put warnings in each section that could get misused.
