Adaptation and extension of the Chaste 2019_1 implementation, with main changes in the cell cycle model and additional features for the Lynch syndrome-related mutations, for stem cell dynamics, and for the feedback mechanisms affecting homeostatic cell death.
In particular, we added the three mutations of interest, APC, MMR, CTNNB1, and included the effects of each on the cell cycle and cell differentiation models. Further, we included our own stem cell model and extended the already existing cell migration model.
Finally, a feedback mechanism was implemented. In summary, our model is built on the general crypt model by Chaste, but some features were implemented from the ground up.
