first reported in Feature search broken on Android devices #2646
reporting as separate issue here
confirmed to still be present in 2.1.1 on android
- the attached shows how the lower parts of the letters are obscured unless one holds their finger on the screen which will reveal the full vertical extent.
the problem can be worse on smaller screens, i.e., harder to read what one is typing
