Building format 'lualatex' did not succeed

The original error was raised by my first call to lualatex mwe.tex over this MWE, after a fresh install of MikTeX on Windows 10:

\documentclass{scrartcl}

\begin{document}

test

\end{document}

As the log file referred to the following command, I tried to launch it directly. Here is the command with its output:

C:\miktex>miktex --enable-installer formats build lualatex --engine luahbtex
Building format 'lualatex' with engine 'luahbtex'...

Sorry, but: The executed process did not succeed.
