Using DMS to migrate AWS RDS for SQL Server to Azure SQL #71183
Comments
@NavtejSaini-MSFT I'll test whether choosing source server type as "SQL Server" will work for migrating from AWS RDS for SQL Server or not. Meanwhile, please update the details in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dms/tutorial-rds-sql-server-azure-sql-and-managed-instance-online |
@nunepalli Review with SQL Server, if successful we will assign the issue for enhancement to our doc author. |

@nunepalli We are glad this is resolved for you. Please convey which screenshots are not correct. If you can give an example, please convey that as well. |

@nunepalli Thank you for this. |
It looks like the original tutorial has been removed as it redirects to the landing page now. Because the screenshots are no longer an issue (as the article was removed), I am closing this issue. If this is incorrect, please let me know and we will address the issue in the documentation. Thank you! #please-close |
As per the details in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/dms/tutorial-rds-sql-server-azure-sql-and-managed-instance-online, we can select AWS RDS for SQL Server as the source server for DMS.
But, I'm not finding that in my DMS deployment. You can see that in the screenshot I attached.
So, can we use Azure DMS for migrating AWS RDS for SQL Server to Azure SQL or not?
