DESCRIPTION

Use this cmdlet to remove a device or user collection.

You can't remove default collections. Any collection that you target should have an ID that starts with the site code, not SMS.

Note

Run Configuration Manager cmdlets from the Configuration Manager site drive, for example PS XYZ:\>. For more information, see getting started.

EXAMPLES

Example 1: Remove a collection by name

This command removes the collection named testUser. Specifying the Force parameter means that you aren't prompted for confirmation before the collection is removed.

Remove-CMCollection -Name "testUser" -Force

Example 2: Get a collection object and remove it

This command gets the collection object named testUser and uses the pipeline operator to pass it to Remove-CMCollection, which removes the collection.

Get-CMCollection -Name "testUser" | Remove-CMCollection
