  • was - before. A past tense indicator
  • sal - shall. A future tense indicator
  • al - already, yet. A perfect tense indicator
  • sou - would, could. A conditionals indicator

Preposition

Formally there is no such thing as preposition in the language, but we have directional roots, like:

  • aan - to
  • in - in
  • by - near, by
  • ... etc.

That usually put in a context using the pattern: om **preposition** **thing**

Vocabulary

Nut-taal is first of all a parsable grammar. The dictionary is rather a dependency.

Having only one source language is preferable, because it allows us to use external dictionaries, in cases when the local dictionary is not exhaustive

At the moment Afrikaans is selected as a source of roots, because:

  • It is one of the simplest natural languages
  • It is close to English, because it is also a Germanic language, but has much simpler vocabulary

How to contribute

Even though you can already use the language for a communication, it is far from being perfect. But the language is open source, so you can easily participate.

To issue a change in the language, go to "Issues" -> "New Issue" -> choose a template and press "Get started" or press "Open a blank issue"
