This script deals with translating and optimizing the data, contained in the project.json
file, of a game developed with Pixel Game Maker MV.
To function correctly, the file must be readable, that means decrypted. For this, please refer to the following link on F95Zone (courtesy of @xj47).
The script is completely automatic but it is still possible to extract the localization strings for manual modification.
This script uses Python 3.x and modules in the requirements.txt
file. These modules can be installed with the command pip install -r path/on/disk/to/requirements.txt
.
Place the script in the same directory of the (decrypted) project.json
and run it.
Warning: This script overwrites the file, so make sure to create a backup copy!
It is possible to have information on the various argoments using the command python PGMTranslator.py -h
