For example : accept "dans l'armoir" if the current letter is "A" because the first letter of the important word is correct. "dans l'" can here be ignored to determine the first letter of the answer.

Why not just skip the article and write "armoire", then?
I mean, we can still talk to explain what we actually meant, if the context is important, can't we?
