What will happen in your session?

Participants will work collaboratively to develop their own amazing games using Scratch. The session is suitable for participants of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels. Expect lots of fun, laughter and a few things you may not have known about Scratch.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

Everyone to develop a successful game with lots of creativity and collaboration involved, with an opportunity to share our creations afterwards.

If your session requires additional materials or electronic equipment, please outline your needs.

Ideally, participants will have access to a PiTop computer or a computer with web-access.

Could you share a bit more about how you will you scaffold different pathways to success for the broad audience described above, @teknoteacher?

@chadsansing Sure. I use the metaphor of a group climbing a tree. We start together at ground level where we establish how we are going to work together as we progress up the tree. Then I start to climb the trunk carefully, modelling the climbing to the others at the same time watching the progress of the others as they follow me up. Then as & when appropriate, we discuss the possible branches each group member might elect to follow and then I watch and mentor as they pursue their own route. Later they show other group members what they achieved, the hurdles and obstacles they faced as well as the solutions they used.
