What brings me to this project:

I like the idea of teaching things through games, and specially role-playing games. I've been a RPG player and game master for the last 12 years. I like to test new concepts and mechanics, adapt games to the audience and always enjoy people reactions in an adventure, specially newcomers, as they are always full of surprise and creativity.
Given the right tools and context, players may create something new and unexpected that can be reused later.

I also like the idea of using git and github for things else than code. I think the open-source way to do things should be used as an inspiration in almost every other domain and I'm please to see it ported to game creation.

What you would like to work on for this project:

Contribute to one or more new adventures (that may include some custom rules).

  • What brings you to this project: I love new and interesting rules. I'm a strong believer that 'rules matter', and love seeing how rules influence the tone, narrative, and experience of a game (in anything from D&D to Apocalypse World to Polaris).
  • What you would like to work on for this project: Ideally I'd work on a campaign to run for a roleplaying club I'm in (hopefully giving more exposure to this game!).
However I'm also very keen to help and provide notes on the projects for anyone seeking a soundboard to bounce ideas of off.

Hi @dexterduck !

Thanks for joining the group. A convention worthy one-shot emphasizing infosec principles is exactly what I'm hoping to get out of the project, too! Excited to collaborate on this.

*What brings you to this project: I am developing my own RPG and am heavily inspired by cryptomancer. Donating work to it will make me feel better about ripping it off. Lulz
*What you would like to work on for this project: I'm building an adventure that puts players in a role as agents of the riskeaters. There are 5 parties they are tracking activity on, and have to figure out which one is supposed to find or build a war golem that is prophecies to bring down shard-nets. If they can get this info before it becomes reality they might just save the world. Who will they have to blackmail, kill, or erase from existence to get this done. Will they be able to live with themselves afterwards.

Welcome @ashgamedesign !

Welcome @villain4hire ! Sounds like a fun adventure. In the spirit of the Global Sprint, it would be really awesome if you emphasized how the Risk Eaters hunt down and track their quarry using Shardnets and the Shardscape, in order to teach how a group or community's online behaviors can be gathered and analyzed to be used against them. Ping me if you need ideas!

What brings you to this project: The Mozilla Sprint. The project caught my eye because I'm a GM, been running my own adventures/settings for years and recently started thinking about game design. Love the idea of gamification and in particular teaching using RPGs.

What you would like to work on for this project: Main strengths are writing and RPG experience, and I'm happy to use those however you need. Probably best at proofreading, improving clarity of text, and writing summaries. Adventure development would be neat if I can contribute on the "what makes a fun adventure level" instead of the "how do we express information security concepts" end. I'd like to stick around after the sprint if I can.

What brings you to this project: Like @BrotherPhil, I saw this on BoingBoing. Thought it looked interesting.
What you would like to work on for this project: Working on my own setting based on Indonesian & Hindu folklore where telepathy is common (and thus telecommunications is present). Thought there could be some interesting cross-pollination around non-Euro creatures, how communications impacts fantasy worlds, and alternate magic ideas. I can add in some of the creatures I have adapted from said South & Southeast Asian folktales.

Also built out an Inception homebrew using a bastardized version of FAE, and enjoy writing scenarios for secret agent types. Could cross-pollinate from that too.
