This is a GeckoView bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1623712
I have a work around that uses loadUri().

I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Reality version 10-140822127 (fb72e3a) installed on the Oculus Go, HTC Vive Focus Plus, Pico Neo2 and Pico G2 headsets.
Now, the webpages are reloaded at the top of the page if the “Reload” button is long-clicked.
