Writing down some notes + questions from #543

  • If GeneratorID was used to identify what types of layer it is, should I replace this with something like layer_type? Is this info necessary?
  • How should a unique identifier for a layer be generated? Ex. A combination of layer attributes? or a generated hash from the layer object?
