Predicate relations definitions need to be loaded into the reference knowledge beacon database #8

The reference knowledge beacon publishes Wikidata Identifier indexed Semantic Medline Database information using UMLS predicates. Wikidata actually has decriptive definitions for these predicates but this information is not yet loaded into the back end Neo4j database behind the reference beacon (i.e. for predicate relation definitions returned by the /predicates endpoint of the Translator Knowledge Beacon 1.0.14 release)

Not sure what you mean by UMLS predicates - can you provide some examples?

umls_predicate.txt

I'm trying to recall from which publication I extracted/inferred the definition of the attached file list of predicates. I only know that these predicates are the ones used by the Semantic Medline Database hence I termed them "UMLS" but perhaps they are just SemMedDb specific.

That said, I think that Ben also remapped the predicates to WikiData properties, e.g. the predicate "has quality" is mapped to http://www.wikidata.org/entity/P1552. In principle, we could extract the descriptions of said predicates directly from WikiData, but that is not yet done.

I've actually just added predicate relation 'definitions' into a new /predicates endpoint in a new iteration of the translator knowledge beacon API (release 1.0.14, posted to the beacon-aggregator repo, soon to be updated to the translator-knowledge-beacon repo). I don't yet use the definition return value in TKBIO although we had the facility for definition display in the previous Knowledge.Bio 3.0 release of the web client.
