"Understory" should be removed from the "Understory Rooted Plant % Cover" section header on the CANY veg plots data sheet since we are recording rooted vegetation at any height (understory and overstory). Note that this is a terminology change rather than a change in the type of data that are collected. While the data sheets have always been labeled as "Understory Rooted Cover" (or something similar), we have always been recording rooted vegetation at any height. This is reflected in the big rivers data collection grid as all rooted cover (ARC). An updated version of the grid is attached for reference.
