The FBI has proposed changes to the code set for j:PersonSexCodeSimpleType:

Current

Code Definition
Female Female
Male Male
Other Male Impersonator, Female Impersonator, or Transvestite
Unknown Unreported sex / Unknown

The XSTF (the Justice domain governance body) has decided to update the Justice sex codes as follows:

Code Definition
F FEMALE
M MALE
X NON-BINARY
U UNKNOWN / UNSPECIFIED

The code values are similar to the ones previously defined in NCIC.
