Search Menu

StringRef...

This option allows you to search for text passages in the dialog.tlk. You can choose whether to match whole words, match case or evaluate regular expressions. Pressing the "Find Next" button will advance to the next match until none are found anymore. Press the "New Search" button to reset the current search.

Shortcut: Ctrl+L (macOS: Command+L)

CRE/ITM/SPL/STO...

With this option you can find resources by their (identified or unidentified) names. Select either of CRE, ITM, SPL or STO and enter the partial or full name to find.

Shortcut: Ctrl+F (macOS: Command+F)

Advanced search

Advanced search...

This is a powerful and flexible tool to search for almost any kind of information in structured resources, such as ARE, CRE, ITM or SPL. A detailed description can be found in the Advanced Search Documentation.

Shortcut: Ctrl+Alt+A (macOS: Command+Option+A)

Legacy extended search...

Allows you to filter resources by a multitude of keywords or values. With the option "Custom Filters" you can also search for field names and data not covered by the predefined filter entries. It's less powerful than the Advanced search, but more convenient to use. Note: This search is not maintained anymore and may be removed in a future update.

Shortcut: Ctrl+Alt+X (macOS: Command+Option+X)

Text search

Provides a simple text search for the resource types 2DA, BCS, DLG, IDS, INI and LUA. You can choose whether to match whole words, case or regular expressions.
