Back to NixOS/nixops#221:

Private IP should be used if ec2.associatePublicIpAddress is not true (done) or elasticIPv4 is not set (should be done).

@ip1981 could you remove your last comment and add more detailed information? Currently you use private and public, I'm confused what really should be the behaviour.

I mean I was surprised when NixOps decided to use private IP, when I had elasticIPv4 defined.
