@rafaelbn last year in oxp there was a booth with an Odoo partner from Netherlands, showing their integration. It was for an adventure park. I don't remember the name.
Also @acysos has integrated a different brand of cash drawer in v11. It's a Spanish brand.

Hi @rafaelbn. At @grap, we don't like such technologies. It is replacing important people by machines, generating unemployment and destroying social ties. Cashiers are mostly precarious people who will have difficulty finding work again.
It's also bad from a capitalistic point of view because it replaces work done by employees with work done by customers for free, which increases the remuneration of capital, and reduces the remuneration of labour.

A shop without any humans is not part of the world we want to build.

@legalsylvain I think these kind of devices do not replace cashiers but come in complement. In these times, that will allow the cashier to not manipulate cash.

The project would have 2 parts: POS Module and IOT BOX Module.

Communication with CashDro would be quite simple. It would be done by file transfer.

The published code would be used to use it in an Odoo HW Module. The published are example scripts of communication with a test machine.

Would it be possible not to use IOT BOX? Maybe, it depends on certain variants.

I work for Guadaltech but I don't make collaboration decisions. It would be interesting for you to get in touch with the Company.

oh thanks @rousseldenis. This machine is so big, that I confused it with the automatic cash registers which are more and more present in the stores. (for example : https://www.healthyfoodhouse.com/say-goodbye-to-cashiers-walmart-store-switches-to-self-checkout-only/)

Well, regarding such machine, I know that a shop in Paris "La louve" is using it, connected with odoo, for about 3 years. You could contact them. Very specific need, because the shop has hundreds of volunteer cashiers

Buy except specific cases like that, I don't like neither such system !

• It's a big material, generating a lot of extra pollution
• You don't earn a lot of time using it
• It is very expensive
  ... Not exactly an object that responds to the challenges of the 21st century.

In fact, the main reason I have heard to deploy such system is because shop managers did not trust their employees, regarding cash manipulation.

I have integrated Cashdro: https://www.cashdro.com/

I can move to OCA, but it's very complicated make test, because you need the hardware. So I don't move to OCA, because always request Tests. If in these case accept haven't test, it's no problem make the PR.
I request to manufacturer make a online webservice, so we can't add test and develop without machine. They reply that are studying do it. Now I have the machine in my office.

Also we are migration to 12.0 and 13.0.

Not all machine need Iotbox. The Cashdro that we have integrated use webservice and don't neet Iot.

@acysos, tests have never been required on OCA, but very advisable, not only for OCA, but for your own good for avoiding problems. Obviously, in things that involve hardware, these tests are hard to do. Although there are some techniques like mocking for this kind of tests conditions, the scope is limited. Anyway, as said, you don't need to have tests for contributing to OCA. See also https://odoo-community.org/page/module-maturity-levels for knowing about different quality levels that you can attribute to your OCA module.
