Reviewed as part of the QuickStart project during Google Season of Docs. The aim is consistency across all OSGeoLive QuickStarts.
@kalxas Please action comments and suggestions you agree with, and ignore those you don't.

Overview section

  • This looks good.
  • In line with the template, add a table of contents .. contents:: Contents

Start Mapslicer

  • Convert step 1 to sentence format rather than being a numbered step. It should use the Sphinx syntax :menuselection: Geospatial --> Spatial Tools --> MapSlicer.
  • Add a sentence (not a step) that says "The application opens at the Tile Profile screen".

Create a tileset

  • Create a heading called "Create a tileset" that contains steps 2-10 (step 2 will become step 1 under this heading)
  • In step 2, you don't actually have to select Tile Profile so remove those words.
  • In step 3, tell users where to browse to find the raster image. (user/data/raster ?) I couldn't find the bluemarble.tif referenced in the screenshot.
  • I'm in two minds about whether these UI screenshots are necessary or not. Let's keep them for now. You can remove the images for steps 9 and 10.
  • At step 4 is the user supposed to take action? If so, what system should they choose and what is the id-number? I just pressed Continue and accepted the defaults.
  • At step 7, Google Maps option is greyed out for me. Should it be?
  • Can you crop the white space on each side of the images? When I click on the page I inadvertently open the image in a new browser window because the image takes up the whole width of the page.

View the tileset

  • Create a heading called 'View the tileset'. This will get picked up by the table of contents list.
  • Include the "Open the openlayers.html files in a web browser..." content here. It does not need to be a numbered step.

Using gdal2tiles...

  • Consider renaming this to a 'Things to try' section if you think that is appropriate.

What Next?

  • In line with the template, add a What Next section title and add some information here. Point to other resources or documentation.
