This is an open discussion:

Since we agree to use dimension less empty variable for sensor information (getting rid of the variable related to sensor). I wonder if we could do the same for other type of information.

Deployment information
Platform information
Field comparison information
Hardware information
Telecom information

This would bring coherence in the file and it is not so much to PR.
I just want to make sure this has no unexpected impact. In my view no. But I may be wrong.

At the moment, we use two approaches to store metadata (appart from Global attribute), through attribute of an empty variable (for sensor) and through variable (for other metadata). Doesn't it give a strange impression ?
