Show all text excerpts on page load, not just the first one. Their content has, I think, by this time already been loaded, but are being hidden. Far better, I think, to show them all by default, and then allow people to selectively hide the ones you don't want to see anymore. This would make the page 'longer' to be sure, but the extracts are already limited in length, and time and efficiency would be gained by now being able to skim over all of them at once. The rollover instead of now showing just the first line of the excerpt, could maybe reveal something about its metadata, if that's available, for example a page number?

That is an interesting suggestion, but I think it is not practical in many situations. First, some resources have a very large number of excerpts, e.g. https://explorer.odeuropa.eu/smells/0000a449-5568-5e07-ae64-75c5627250b6 has 189 excerpts. Unfolding all by default would be a killer on a mobile screen.

I agree though that the UI could provide additional contextual information in addition to "Excerpt [number]". I'm not quite sure what we have though in the metadata. @pasqLisena Can we have, for example, the page number to expose / show where the said excerpt appears?

Note that issue #44 is closely related and should be fixed first
