Describe the bug

In Windows 11, using a custom start button overlays the custom image on top of the original windows start button instead of replacing it

Area of issue

Taskbar

To reproduce

Go to Settings
Choose custom start button

Expected behavior

The original Windows 11 start button should not be shown underneath the custom one

Open-Shell version

4.4.190

Windows version

Windows 11 22H2

Additional context

Worked properly on Windows 10 prior to WIndows 11 upgrade

This is known issue.
There is currently no way how to hide windows start button on Windows 11.

You should adjust your custom button image by shifting it few pixels to the right (if you want to use left aligned taskbar).
Or you can use Aero button style that adjusts itself properly.

Alternatively, you can use the Windows 10 taskbar (for example with ExplorerPatcher). This will most likely fix the issue.

did you see the following link that might help in this or a workaround idea?

What exactly is supposed to help with hiding original Start button?
I don't see anything related in the article you have mentioned.

I wasn't sure if it would help with this/similar issue and figured that it wouldn't hurt to let you know of that link.
