E.g. the legend of the "main" DDI Ratio plot will become even longer in the near future.
How should we deal with this?

  1. Just decrease the font size so that all legend entries fit in 1 column like now?
  2. Start the 2nd legend column?
  3. Place the legend above the plot area?
  4. Turn the legend off?
  5. Provide user option, allowing to select between all/some of the options above?
  6. Other?

3. Place the legend above the plot area

my favourite... though I need to admit that the legend gets more and more useless..

Food for thought,
Would it be more relevant to split the color and symbol legends with for instance different colors for perpetrators and different symbols per victims ?

I would suggest to split the legend into a color and a symbol part, where the color represents the compound combination and the symbol represents the route . This would reduce the number of entries quite a bit. However, this would need another structural layer in the qualification plan, where all simulations with the same drug combination are grouped together with the combination as a "header" and then subgroups (iv and po) are introduced that will define the symbol. I think the plot will also benefit from it from a consistency point of view since in the plot that is posted here the symbols are not consistently representing the same route (although intended), probably due to the manual selection of symbols in the qualification plan.
