Refer to this forum thread for other users with the same issue:
http://openelec.tv/forum/68-audio/55638-openelec-version-2952-yamaha-amp-no-hd-audio-over-hdmi

My setup is:
Zotac ZBOX ID84, NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M HDMI ->
Yamaha RX-V371BL ->
Panasonic TH-58PX600U

TV sound is not used, all audio is out of Yamaha AVR.

Configure audio device as "MEI PANASONIC-TV on HDMI", and audio passthrough device as "MEI PANASONIC-TV on HDMI".

HDMI audio for navigation sounds are ok, and DTS and AC3 passthrough is ok.
No audio signal when playing DTS-HD and TrueHD.

I tested with 3 Beta 3 and with 3 Beta 5, same issue.

I have a zip with logfiles while debug logging was enabled.

I tested with a new Intel NUC box using Intel build Beta 5, exactly the same results.
DTS and AC3 passthrough ok, no DTS-HD and no TrueHD.
HDMI audio device automatically selected as "MEI PANASONIC TV".

I suspect this may be an AE issue?

RC1 still does not work.
Tested with Intel NUC and Zotac ID84.

@Viald: I don't think this is the same issue as #1612. Instead, I'm pretty sure we're facing a bug in Intel's HBR bitstream support as in this XBMC thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=136555

I'm willing to try and port the patches to OpenELEC if some dev will merge them into the yet-to-be-release 3.0 final.

Or we just hope & wait for Kernel 3.7 to include those patches..

I tested with RC2, and I can now play DTS-HD and TrueHD.

Also updated to RC2. In a short test, no sound was played at all when using files with DTS-HD or TrueHD. Using a Pentium G620 (Sandy Bridge) with HD Graphics.

Will be fixed with RC3 for the intel cards. But in general, when the ELD of your receivers does not play nice - no chance.

The Nvidia ION 1st gen doesnt support HBR which is needed for Bitstream.
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:HDAudioPassthrough
Probably this should be added to the openelec wiki cause the ION Platform is very popular.

I did not see anyone mentioning ION-1? Just Intel + nvidia GT520 which can do it both.

Yes, this is sad - but you can do LPCM and won't really hear the difference :-)

Same problem here with a mini ITX. LPCM? Sorry for noob question but, how? The receiver will also show DTS HD input logo?

Mini ITX is no hardware - it is a formfactor. Wait for RC3 and you will see. Please don't misuse this github as forum. Bug is reported and we think we have it fixed (for capable hardware). You can try with RC3 when it is coming out.

ION-1 will never do bitstream audio, so that is not a (software) bug.

Thanks and sorry. With my big system. ATX and GTX 660 Ti works. Just to let you know. Again, sorry :) it would not happen again.

Nothing to say sorry about. In OpenELEC github usage is quite different
than normally. I just wanted to come back to the real topic and not create
a "melting pot" for audio problems.

Btw. if you ever have an xbmc bug, don't post it on their github - as this
is development only in deed.

Close it. There are audio problems, so people jump on the track whenever they see "Audio".
