All future shipments for potency testing in Dundee will include a reference compound. The same compound will be supplied, sent with each batch of compounds each time, so as to ensure equal treatment of the samples. The reference compound we will be using is OSM-S-353. This should be welcome news to those of you who have been hinting/suggesting/pleading that we do such a thing!

Fantastic! Next step would be to try and get a biochem research chemical house like (e.g tocris) to pick this molecule up and sell it to researchers!

Good stuff

  1. Please post the set of re-test results
  2. Ditto for the re-synthesis results (i.e. for the old and new batch in //)
  3. Sent to other screening centers who have generated OSM result sets for the master table, especially data destined for the paper (inc. GSK and MMV)
  4. I am in contact with Tocris so I can ping

n.b. who is taking over since the esteemed David is moving on?

I have not been seeing updates in the USyd lab notebooks so perhaps they are on break? Did you manage to contact Tocris or is that a multi day process? @cdsouthan

Edit: I stand corrected

Hi all, sorry that updates haven't been posted in a while. Things have slowed a little since Mat's been on holiday and David's finished up. Rest assured that @maratsydney and I are still plugging away in the lab. Marat has been further exploring the telesubstitution results and I have been making some hERG Evador derivatives.

Hopefully we can get another batch of compounds off in the next few months as well (including the reference compound mentioned above). We are also waiting on the potency for the Pfizer biosynthesis repeat (which should be coming in any day now).

As for who is taking over for David, currently no one. However, once Mat starts at UCL in September there should be a new postdoc on the project so stay tuned.

Fine, NOPANOTT but make sure the team members are drafting those sections in the draft paper though

@cdsouthan I am not familiar with that acronym - can you explain it when you get a chance?

Two months on. So how much OSM-S-353 have we got now, whose cupboard is it in and what are the re-test results?

Please post a link to the synthetic schema and I can ping this to Tocris

@cdsouthan Sorry for the very late response, somehow missed this discussion. I currently have around 50 mg of that compound in Sydney, it was sent for the first time as a reference this week to Dundee Series4#62

Bellow synthetic path to the compound starting from commercially available compound (MK001, MK004, MK088):

So @maratsydney @mattodd what were the re-syn and re-test results?
(i.e. old vs new batch in same assay run)
