Custom Error Page - not working in MVC

I have put \Views\Shared\NotFound.cshtml

then browse to https://localhost:44360/test , still got the default asp.net not found error.

I see there are reponse referencing to OrchardCore.Diagnostics, but how to make it work?? Maybe added to Nuget and then ?

So you defined the not found page from the app, normally that's okay as an application behaves as a module and as a super theme.

We already set an higher precedence for the shape template views defined at the app level, but not for pure mvc views

Already fixed locally on my machine, i will do a PR soon, good catch.

@jtkech anything changed here? I added NotFound.cshtml to Shared directory in my MVC application (.NET Core 3.1). The custom error page works on my local machine but after deploy to azure I still see Orchard blank page with text "The page could not be found."

I checked configuration and it looks in this way:

As I said it works fine on localhost (MacOS and WinX64) but there is problem on Azure App Service (Windows x64).

In the meantime try to not reference .RuntimeCompilation here, it is referenced through Cms.Targets, idem for all other libraries that we already depend on, and maybe give a try with the cloudsmith latest version 16284.

What you could do is to just re-try it but with a minimal web app referencing our Cms.Targets, as i tried but on a local published context, and with a minimal startup as documented (you can also just copy paste the one in our repo).

Looks like you are using azure containers, how did you deploy your application?

Is there any way to do the NotFound Error Page as a template definition in the CMS?
Like going to templates in admin menu and adding a template "NotFound"?

Interesting, when I put the file into a Views folder in my module it is working fine. If I place it inside Theme/Views it is not working.

The docs explicitly say:

If you've made customizations to error views within your theme, you should search for BadRequest, Forbidden, NotFound, and Unauthorized views in either YourTheme/Views/OrchardCore.Diagnostics/Diagnostics or YourTheme/Views/Shared and relocate them to YourTheme/Views.

So, is this a bug or is the documentation wrong?
