After updating to pacman 6.0 and enable newly introduce ParallelDownloads option in /etc/pacman.conf,
PackageKit failed to start with error message:
"Failed to initialize alpm: using /etc/PackageKit/alpm.d/pacman.conf: /etc/PackageKit/alpm.d/pacman.conf:8/etc/pacman.conf:37unrecognised directive 'ParallelDownloads'"

Temporary work around, disable ParallelDownloads option.

The Arch devs pushed an update (1.2.3-4) which patches this (although it looks like the ParallelDownloads option is ignored for now rather than downloading multiple packages in parallel)
