As documented in pytest-dev/pytest#12269,

The newer release of pytest broke pytest-asyncio==0.21.1. There's now a new patch release of pytest-asyncio for those still using 0.21.

This will do for now, but we should look at fixing the underlying issue with sticking to this minor version of pytest-asyncio - it's already up to version 0.23.6
