It would be really usefull if you could delete an audiobook/file in the submenu of main view for an entry. Thank you really for this nice player and your work on it! 馃憤

The audiobook list auto-generates from the list of books in the given audiobook folder, so removing a book from that folder removes it from the list of books.

Can you explain a little more or am i missing something ?

I dont really see an issue here ?

My use case is:

  • Download mp3 podcast as file from various sources (SoundCloud, national broadcast station, plain web pages, ...) on various devices (pc at work/home, tablet, ...) triggered by various events (tweet, mail, ...)
  • Upload them into folder on my mobile
  • Listen to it using MaterialAudiobookPlayer
  • Then I would like to delete it after playing. For now it means to find it in file manager and delete there (and yes, app playlist is automatically updated). But files are often called like 701164654.mp3 so it is quite hard to find proper file.

Deleting file in app context menu would be handy function.

Maybe I did not understand concept of podcasts well, but this is how I do it :-D

@sandybeachit: it is no real "issue" it is an feature request :)
@jkubos: Exactly, we got the same procedure.

Would be a really nice feature! 馃憤

My thought is to have just a new sub menu item like this:
material1
material2

Could you provide a hint where the submenu and his actions are implemented in the code?

Why don't I have a delete item in the submenu?

Because it's not implemented.

Why?
Is it planned?
Will it never be implemented?

It's implemented now :)

This doesn't actually work for me on my Pixel Tablet running Android 14. Perhaps it's because the app never requested photos and videos filesystem access permissions? Android requires this now.
