The docs for use re say

As of perl 5.9.5 're' debug contains a number of utility functions that may be optionally exported into the caller's namespace.

I think it should be

As of perl 5.9.5, the 're' module contains a number of utility functions that may be optionally exported into the caller's namespace.

Also, the functions are always available --using use re; is not required-- but this isn't documented. I don't know if that's intentional.
