Soul Under Sculk (SUS)

Soul Under Sculk is a mod for Minecraft that allows the player to transform into a Scroulkkoth, a Grotesque Eldritch Abomination forged of Sculk and Ender.

Below is a usage guide and/or lore document for the mod.

Becoming a Scroulkkoth: The Scroulkkoth Verum

To become a Scroulkkoth, one must first obtain the Scroulkkoth Verum, a strange handheld device formed from an Ender-Enhanced Sculk Catalyst. Upon first crafting the Verum it will be Inactive, and must be charged with Experience.

The safest way to charge the Verum is to simply hold it whilst collecting XP, similar to the Mending enchantment. However, the Verum's Echo Shards also allow it to Siphon Experience from living players, including the user.

Holding Right Click on an Inactive Verum will allow you to attack yourself with it, Siphoning the Experience within your own body into the Verum. Unsurprisingly, stabbing yourself to Siphon away own your Life's Experience is rather painful.

The Verum can also Siphon experience from other players via attack, but this will be less effective due to a lack of precision.

Upon collecting sufficient Experience the Verum will Activate, opening its Eye and its Maw. The Verum can still collect Experience and Siphon from other players, but trying to use it on yourself now allows for its True Purpose. You are now ready to Scroulkkothicate.

Scroulkkothication

A Charged Verum will turn its Face towards the player, ready to release the copius Sculk Charge built up within its Catalyst. Upon use, the Verum will inject said charge into and around the player, triggering Scroulkkothication.

The user's original body will rapidly be subsumed by void, dissipating and sealing it away into the Ender. Simultaneously, the Verum will heal the gaps with the copius Sculk Charge built up within, rapidly regenerating a new sculky body in its place. Any excess void will crystallise on the Sculk-body's back, whilst the rest will collect around the interior of the skull. Now acting as a gateway between the Sculk and the Ender, the void keeps the Player's Soul somewhere Inbetween the two bodies, granting control over this new form whilst protecting from the Sculk's natural tendency to Supress the Soul.

At this point, the User has become a Scroulkkoth.

From the user's perspective, however, it will basically appear as if they just instantaneously shapeshifted.

The Scroulkkoth

The Scroulkkoth is smaller than the typical player, has only one "eye", lacks visible arms or hands, and wears a backpack. Due to bearing a Suspiciously close resemblance to a certain alien species, some have referred to them colloquially as "Sculkmates".

Upon Scroulkkothication, the Scroulkkoth will rapidly regenerate its health, due to the fact it has literally just had its entire body regenerated.

Additionally, due to being composed of only void and somewhat porous sculk, the Scroulkkoth is rather bouncy, allowing it to jump high and surive long falls.

The Scroulkkoth naturally bears a close Communion with the Sculk, granting it passage within their Domain, albeit through questionably effective methods.

See the Scroulkkoth Augmentation page for details on changing the Scroulkkoth's Appearance.

Reversion and Regression

If, for whatever reason, one ever wanted to stop being a Scroulkkoth, there are three primary methods to do so: Reversion, Regression, and Death.

Reversion

Reversion is by far the safest of the three options, and should be used in most scenarios. By using an Activated Verum as a Scroulkkoth, it will reverse the process, pulling the user's body from the Ender, dissipating the Sculk and severing the link between. This will consume as much charge as Scroulkkothication would have.

Regression

Should Reversion not be an option, perhaps due to having Gifted your Verum to another, crafting and consuming a Regression Vial will also work. This will cause your body to regress to its previous state, dissipating the sculk around you up to the point of death, at which point your original body will be forcibly pulled from the Ender, damaged but alive. Any remaining contents of the Regression Vial should dissipate along with the Scroulkkoth.

The Regression Vial is easier to obtain than the Verum, and does not require Experience Charge; however it is much more dangerous. Responsible Temporary Scroulkkothicaters should not use Regression as a cheap alternative to become human.

Under absolutely no circumstance should one use a Regression Vial without being transformed. This is almost always fatal.

Death

Upon death, the Scroulkkoth will be destroyed entirely, severing the link to the Ender and destroying the semi-corporal body within.

It should not be necessary to explain why this is not a suitable method under any circumstances. Please do not kill yourself, there are always other options; such as those explained above.
