MS income tax difference with TAXSIM35

The following integration test fails. It is not yet known whether the
tax logic problem is in TAXSIM35 or in the current PEUS code, or
whether there are problems in both models. This topic is meant to
facilitate discussion of why this test fails, primarily by reporting
the results of hand calculations required to fill out the relevant tax
form.

@martinholmer very similar question as in LA:
We have calculated the following amounts for this integration test for separate filers:

And this amount for joint filers:

I cannot seem to find the issue here, we align with TAXSIM up until the income tax (line 17) - it feels like I am missing a part of the integration testing but I dont see the issue in the code or the rates.
Please let me know if I made mistakes in the calculation or if I missed a crucial part

I'm not following how you filled out the form.
Seems like the Column A taxable income should be zero.
Seems like the Column B taxable income (which is now blank) should be $154,965.

As you can see, I'm confused. What am I missing?

Yes I see, I believe that the form instructions state that if one of the Columns in line 16 is negative and the sum is positive, then we compute line 17 based on the combined value in Column A
