500 Internal Server Error #10
Comments
Could you please run this script from command line and paste the result here? so that I can assist you further on this.
|
root@srv1 [~]# /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.pl |
this looks fine, could you please access whm=>letsencrypt and share the cpanel error log file? so that I can check and assist you. |
Here you go malformed JSON string, neither tag, array, object, number, string or atom, at character offset 0 (before "\n<ht...") at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/LetsEncrypt/WHM.pm line 171. (Removed the Session Token) |
Hello I have the same issus that are what the cpanel error log say CDB_File could not be loaded. You may see pages in English rather than in your desired locale at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Locale/Utils.pm line 11. |
Hello, Any infos about how to fix that issus? |
Just got the error, actually. Most of our servers are CentOS 6 or 7, but I just tried on CentOS 5 and that produced the 500 error. Here are details. Log to follow shortly to your email @Prajithp

I should note, however, that SNI isn't available on CentOS 5. At least I believe that's still the case. So maybe this is futile on this server. |
@KeithIMyers @ashworthconsulting @dochardi , Could you please upgrade to latest release and see how it works? both mentioned issues has been fixed. |
@Prajithp For me, at least...on CentOS 5 it wouldn't matter, right? Because I'd need to assign each SSL domain to a static IP address. I don't think SNI is on v5, and if it is not, I think I'd be a tad out of luck on that particular server (with no way to upgrade to v6 for that matter...the sites need to be migrated). |
Yes CentOS 5 doesn't support SNI. But, if you have domains with dedicated ip, you can still assign letsencrypt ssl certificate using this. |
We can confirme that the laste update fix the 500 error |
In my case, the latest update did not fix it for me (CentOS 6.7) On Mon, Mar 7, 2016 at 12:22 PM, Kai notifications@github.com wrote:

@KeithIMyers Could you please share the cpanel error log with me? |
Just installed this on my personal system, getting 500 ISE as well.

Seems, you have enabled some security settings in WHM as I can see the key based auth was denied by WHM. Please check your security settings and let us know. |
Yep, verified that having 2FA enabled for root causes this to fail. |
This does make sense as I also have 2FA turned on for my root account. @Prajithp - do you think this can be fixed in the future? |
solved clue, uninstall then fresh install |
@KeithIMyers cPanel has to be fixed this issue as all api calls are failing when 2FA is enabled. If you don't mind could you please open a support ticket with cPanel? I will also check with them |
root@cpanel [~]# /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.pl |
@cunninghambr , seems your perl is broken. Could please paste here the following commands output to investigate further. $> /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/perl -e 'print $] . "\n"'
$> cat /usr/local/cpanel/version
$> head -n1 /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.pl |
@Prajithp |
I've got the same basic error; 500 error.
Any clue on this one? |
@cunninghambr Could you please update your cPanel installation to latest release as I can see you are still on Perl version 5.14. |
@JKetelaar Please uninstall and install again, that should fix your issue. Also, please provide the installation output if possible. |
@Prajithp update and error persist |
Thanks a bunch @Prajithp, works like a charm. |
@cunninghambr could u plz contact me on prajithpalakkuda@gmail.com? Just would like to discuss more about this issue. |
Same error as @cunninghambr
Everything updated, reinstalled yet the same. |
Same problem with 2 factor authentication turned on. "500 No response from subprocess (/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.pl): The subprocess reported error number 255 when it ended." Works perfectly fine in cPanel, just not WHM. 2FA is enabled on both the cPanel and the WHM account. [ [~/letsencrypt-cpanel]# /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/letsencrypt/letsencrypt.pl Access denied |
@jrustonapps @kushalraha I'm not able to recreate this issue on any of my test boxes, so seems to be server configuration issue. Please contact me on prajithpalakkuda@gmail.com if you need any further assistance. |
@Prajithp I have the same issue, it happens when the LetsEncrypt WHM services certificate expires on its own and then you can not reinstall it. Not an ARRAY reference at /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/letsencrypt-cpanel-ui/lib/perl5/Protocol/ACME.pm line 718. |
I hate to say it, but I just setup a new cPanel server today on CentOS 7, and having this issue.
I'm using this plugin on other CentOS 6 boxes ...is there something wrong with compatibility on v7 that I should know about?

Actually, I think my firewall was getting in the way. Copied a config from another known-good server, and I think that's when it started working correctly. |

Good Afternoon,
Upon installing this plugin, I see the option under the WHM plugin manager for "Letsencrypt" however I get a 500 server error after selecting it. Any advice?
