  • Windows Server Version: [server 2019]
  • Exchange Version: [exchange 2019
  • Installed DKIM Exchange Version: [3.4]

Description

"Couldn't load private key for domain [mydomainname]. The given key does not have the correct type. The keyfile must include the prvate and public key in PEM format. It is of type: Org.BouncyCastle.Crypto.Parameters.RsaKeyParameters

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Followed install steps by three different writers - all the same.
  2. Had to fix file permissions first
  3. now, I get the key isn’t of the correct type. Stumped.
  4. Two or maybe three other posts have indicated similar issue but exited leaving no substance river steps to resolve.

Hi. What version of EX are u using (Example: 15.1.2507.17) (Version, CU, etc)

First of all: Please install all security updates after CU12

  1. Install ProDKIM-exchange in the default directory/folder: c:\Program Files\Exchange DkimSigner\

  2. Use por example: https://cryptotools.net/rsagen
    create public key and RSA private key (2048)

  3. Before use DkimSigner: create 2 files in key folder
    -pub file with domain_sel2023.pub name (paste content from public rsa key)
    -pem file with domain_sel2023.pem name (paste content from private rsa key)

  4. go to dkimsigner and follow image
    be carefull: you need to modify DNS records

you need more than one update (from April 2022) there are many updates for EX19 CU12
