Fixes #382 and future proofs in case platform.mac_ver()[0] returns 11.x.

Thanks for the fix!
Before I merge the changes, all contributors to ProjectQ are currently required to sign a license agreement. Can I have one sent to your email address as listed on your GitHub profile?
