Sync costs

Seba: sync script doesn’t properly detect changes. Use event bridge to perform an action when a criteria is met: e.g. objects in a budget being modified.

  • Seba has this basically working
  • Enabled a couple of days ago
  • Lowered spike in S3 out costs

Questions:

  • Should we also run a full sync at lower intervals
  • But: doesn’t this also introduce a certain error percentage
  • Jim proposal: compare full file listing ever X months
  • Seba will put code in new private gh repo and share
  • Jim will take a look at the code to verify
  • Eventbridge costs money, but negligible

Coordination

  • Jim made some small changes to Drupal MySql, putting it into mixed bin lock format.
  • Seba: might be some issues at much larger scale but not for us

  • GDCC Proposal going into sensitive data for Dataverse

  • White paper on sensitive data in DV – Borealis & ASU

  • SK mentioned POSE, Jim thinks might be good idea for DV, we just need to get the right pitch

  • Little work on QDR this week Jim jumping back into QDR work full time this week.

  • Focus on OIDC

  • Drupal will be a bit rough.

  • Focus on OIDC/LDAP/Dataverse Jim cleaning up modules, turning off old themes for admin

  • Dev/Stage Admin pages look different now

  • RDFa module deprecated – we’re not sure where we’re using it, but there are some warnings on update.
