There is a drat vignette for opting-in packages via CI: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/drat/vignettes/CombiningDratAndTravis.html

I was able to add a CRON job so that it will run every week on Wednesday at 12:00. I know this works because I tested it on my own repo: https://github.com/zkamvar/drat/commit/a14e9284165a776999d74850b3060f048ddf9af1/checks?check_suite_id=399736312
