Where to stay

There is a multitude of hotels of all sorts in and around Wrocław's centre. Here are some starting points around the venue:

Keep in mind that AirBnB in the same neighbourhood as the venue is also close to all the pubs and it's quite lively all night long on the weekends.

If you wish to try something different, you could choose among alternative areas:

In early 20th century a new riverbed was dug to the north thus enclosing the modern settlements of Biskupin, Dąbie, Sępolno, Zacisze and Zalesie. The architecture is a mix of early twentieth century German urban planning and some of early post-WWII period. Likely the greenest part of Wrocław, you will find here Wrocław's largest park, the ZOO, Japanese Garden and relaxing pathways along the river.

XIX century Breslau

There are two neighbourhoods which although they survived the war fairly well, suffered from neglect during the second part of the XX century. In recent years a lot has been done to revitalise those parts with new housing and refurbishment of the historic buildings. Those are the areas where you will see some of Wrocław's finest architecture.

Just north of the old town lie Nadodrze and Ołbin. You will find there numerous art galleries and hip bars but also cozy parks and Botanical Gardens.

Not far to the east on the other hand is Przedmieście Oławskie which has long been called the Bermuda Triangle. Given that people no longer disappear there, it may be interesting to experience a place where time may seem to have stopped some time ago.

Finally, there is no Polish city without vast concrete jungles. A staple of modernist France and also the former Soviet states, large blocks of flats are also a common sight across Poland, and in Wrocław. With a number such areas, I would recommend to look to the west, along Legnicka street. Nicely spaced but clearly ageing residential building of late 80's mix will let you feel the life in Poland while it was on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain.
