Search bookmarks allow saving your search configurations and apply them later with a click. Bookmarks are stored locally, in the app, and do not rely on PhotoPrism server.

Add a bookmark

To add a bookmark, once your search is applied, click the "Bookmark" button in the right corner of the search bar.

Enter the name of the new bookmark and click Save.

Apply a bookmarked search

Once you've added a bookmark, you can see it in the bookmarks list on the search screen.

Click on a bookmark and the search will be applied.

Reorder bookmarks

New bookmarks are added to the beginning of the bookmarks list. You can manually put a bookmark elsewhere by long pressing and dragging it to the desired location.

Edit a bookmark

You can rename or delete a bookmark by clicking either the "Edit" (pencil) button in the bookmarks list or the "Bookmark" button in the right corner of the search bar.

  • To rename a bookmark, in the edit dialog, enter the new name and click Save.
  • To delete a bookmark, in the edit dialog, click Delete as soon as it becomes available. To avoid accidental deletion, the button is not available momentarily.

Backup and restore bookmarks

Bookmarks are stored locally, in the app, they are not sent to the server. If you disconnect from a library, your bookmarks are kept. However, to keep the bookmarks after reinstall of the gallery, a backup must be made. Bookmarks backup is a JSON (.json) text file.

  • In the "Bookmarks" sections, click Export;
  • In the export dialog, select whether you want to save the backup file locally (e.g. to the "Documents" folder) or send it to another app (e.g. Telegram or Google Drive).

Restore a backup (import)

⚠ When restoring bookmarks from a backup, current bookmarks will be replaced.

  • Download your backup file to the device storage;
  • Go to Preferences by pressing the "More" button in the left corner of the search bar;
