I have loaded latest release of Rainloop on a fresh install of Cents WebPanel. Its setup to access local postfix/dovecote mail server on same box.

Everything appeared to be working fine. Incoming email loads with no issue and testing connection settings for the domain in the admin area everything lights up green.

However, when I try to send or save a new email the Icons flash red and get a message saying Can't send or Save messages.

I have checked permissions/ownership and all seem fine and I can't see anything obvious in the logs which I have turned on. I am new to CentOS Web panel so tested turning off the Firewall but issue remains.

To be sure it wasn't a mail server issue I tried setting up another remote mail server in Rainloop but I still get the same issue.

Anything obvious I'm missing?

Thanks

I met the same question,
maybe it just cant access local mail server(postfix/dovecot),authentication issue
you can receive mail using your local mail server account, but cannot send.
But if you are using the popular mail server, eg outlook.com
you'll be able to send email.

I resolved this in the end as I got th same issue trying to using RoundCube.

Turns out modsecurity is setup on CentOS Web Panel by default and certain rules were blocking Rain loop and RoundCube.

I have currently disabled modsecurity and everything works fine. Although in a production environment you'd probably be better to exclude the rule causing issues for the rain loop folder.

@luketarrant You have saved me hours of digging. Thank you. So in CWP ModSecurity, there are 3 profile options, OWASP old, OWASP Latest and Comodo WAF. I have set my ModSec Rules profile to Comodo and now am able to send/save email via rainloop and roundcube.
