Note: once again, macOS will probably block the app opening because "the developper isn't identified". I'm currently working on this issue, but you can in the meantime work around by clicking Show in Finder and Ctrl + click on the app icon.

This new version of Elements brings fewer major changes, but contains numerous bug fixes and small changes to make the use of Elements LaTeX even better!

The main changes added by this version are:

  • A startup window for a better first interaction with the app
  • Buttons to quickly minimize the side of PDF panel
  • A better interface and an app more stable than ever

Requirements: you will need to have the pdflatex command working. If not, you can install it right here.

Any feedback is much appreciated, do not hesitate to open an issue or even a pull request!

This new version of Elements brings loads of new features and major changes. While the software is still in pretty early development phase, it can now truly be used as a basic, but good looking, LaTeX editor.

The main features added by this version are:

  • Code editor rework: now supports syntax highlighting, with the beautiful One Dark theme
  • Compile directly from the app - no more side command line!
  • Many small quality of life improvements and interface changes

Requirements: you will need to have the pdflatex command working. If not, you can install it right here.

Pre-release

Note: macOS will probably block the app opening because "the developper isn't identified". I'm currently working on this issue, but you can in the meantime work around by clicking Show in Finder and Ctrl + click on the app icon.

I'm very excited to bring this first pre-release to you! Please note that the the project is still in the early phase of development, and that the app may contain numerous bugs and issues.
The editor still lacks of essential features, but you may take a quick look at the project progression by downloading and using the app below.
Any constructive feedback is very much appreciated!

Main features:

  • Open a folder or file
  • Modify any .tex file (save it using Cmd+S
  • Automatically show the matching PDF file in the side panel

Main missing features:

  • Compiling tex file directly from the app (instead, use the terminal)
  • Text editor features (syntax highlighting, autocompletion)

These features will be implemented soon, so keep updated!
