Hi Robin,
a README.md would indeed be great. Especially for explaining how to install the dependencies outside of R.
Something like this (don't know if that's enough for Ubuntu but worked for me) would already help for the time being:

Install dependency gsl

You need to install gsl version 2.1 or higher (link here).

Ubuntu

sudo apt-update
sudo apt-get install libgsl0-dev

Windows

Mac OSX

Install gsl in R

install.packages("gsl")
