When I try to choose the arduino application folder ( C:\Program Files\Arduino ) , the dialog closes before I can reach even the"program file" folder. I make a click on "program files" and it closes.

that should be how it works. I think you only need to select the parent folder for your arduino folder. Does the package not work after that?

No, I can traverse all of the folders in the C:\ directory but ProgramFiles. I can´t select the arduino parent folder cause I cant go to it's location. there isnt any configuration file that I could edit manually? Like "stino.global_settings" or something like that...

ok maybe it is different in windows? in ubuntu when I select the program folder, there is no actual "selection" when I am in the right directory, the dialogue just closed itself. Which made me think it had crashed the first time I did it, lol. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

This dialog is confusing, I tried multiple times to type the full path before I realized I had to type /, press enter, then select Applications then select Arduino.app.

Yeah, I struggled with it as well. Just make it a text string that you enter.

I struggled as well. I also tried using the mouse to select the path and it didn't work.

👍 @sholsinger took me 15 minutes to figure out this step
