CARS24 is one of the leading websites that sell used cars. The data provides detailed information about used cars, including their specifications and pricing details. This dataset provides detailed information about used cars, including their specifications and pricing details. The dataset consists of approximately 8015 rows and 9 columns, covering various types of used cars such as sedans, SUVs, hatchbacks, luxury SUVs, and luxury sedans. Agenda: This analysis aimed to find out the type of used cars people like to buy, cars that have good resale value, cars that have longevity, the average price of used cars over the years, do people prefer automatic cars to manual cars. The insight will help them identify models and brands of cars for targeted marketing and sales strategies, help them tailor their marketing campaign accordingly, and also track changes in pricing trends over time in the used car market. Data: The dataset includes the following columns: Car Name: The name or model of the car. Distance: The distance already travelled by the car (in kilometres). Year Bought: The year when the car was purchased. Previous Owners: The number of previous owners of the car. Location: The location of the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Transmission: The type of transmission (automatic or manual). Car Type: The type of car (sedan, SUV, hatchback, luxury SUV, luxury sedan). Fuel: The fuel used (petrol, diesel, CNG, etc.). Price: The price of the car.

Data Cleaning & Data Modelling: Before doing analysis of Cars data first, an initial Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process was conducted to clean and prepare the dataset for analysis. I did Data Cleaning in excel Power Query remove unwanted rows and in the original data only RTO location is given so in power query editor I add city using RTO data which is available on Google. After that I do Data Modelling in Power Bi . Insight:

  1. "Maruti Swift" a sporty and agile hatchback is the most frequently listed and searched car model in the used car market.
  2. Petrol cars are the most selling cars on Cars24.79.46% cars listed on Cars24 are Petrols,13.67% are Diesel Cars,6.86% are CNG cars. It shows that demand for Petrol Cars is high.
  3. Hatchback cars are the highest distance covered cars over the years and had the highest number of owners, this simply means that hatchback cars have longevity and a good resale value.
  4. There has been a steady increase in car prices over the years. This analysis provides key performance metrics to track changes in pricing trends over time in the used car market.
  5. After analysis of transmission column, it shows that Manual cars the most listed and searched cars,80.38% of cars listed are manual.
  6. Used Cars are mostly sell in Bengaluru. Suggestion: Check on Petrol and Manual Cars: Since petrol cars make up 79.46% of the cars listed on cars24 and manual cars make up 80.38% of the total cars, it is clear that there is a significant demand for petrol cars in the used car market. They should emphasize showcasing petrol cars and highlight their advantages such as better fuel efficiency and lower maintenance costs. This can attract a larger pool of potential buyers and drive more sales. Consider Mileage and Number of Owners in Pricing Strategy: The analysis revealed a correlation between mileage, the number of owners, and car prices. Cars with low mileage and fewer owners tend to command higher prices. They should take this into account when pricing their inventory. As hatchback cars have shown high demand and longevity, it would be wise to stock a variety of hatchback models (like Maruti Swift) to cater to the preferences of potential buyers.
