This repository is for a Chrome Extension which aims at providing teh facility for encryption of simple text messages using custom builtin Encryption Algorithms.
The main intended purpose of this extension is to be able to encrypt text string using a password which is known to the sender and reciever and then sending it using the web whatsapp application or any other messaging service.
THe encryption algorithm is a custom one and is does not uses any of the third party services to encrypt the text messages.
This Extension can also be used to encrypt text files on local device to ensure that the files contents are protected.
Steps to install Web Encrypter in Chrome:
- Download this repo as a ZIP file from GitHub.
- Unzip the file and you should have a folder named WhatsApp-Encrypter-
- In Chrome go to the extensions page (chrome://extensions).
- Enable Developer Mode.
- Drag the WhatsApp-Encrypter- folder anywhere on the page to import it (do not delete the folder afterwards).
The Extension is ready for use.
