  • make anomaly detection use an 'optical sensor' that only works during the day
  • show the day/night terminator as seen in some clocks. see this google search. (drtedastro)
  • this is a pre-requisite for a realism re: visual band scanner (presumably this means taking a picture of the surface itself)
