Still failing because numpy dev breaks h5py. I think maybe we should just not try to test against numpy dev more than our dependencies do... |

ok it's still failing but this time it's really out of our hands: the issue is that even h5py nightlies are too old and not compatible with numpy 2.0.0b1 yet. I'd recommend merging this as is. |
