SimModeler Fusion: Wall curve manipulation

For filenames and numbers, the following steps assume we have a copy of data/samples/D-g096333.03337/
, with the only contents being an xgc_mesh_in
file and input files (in this case g096333.03337
).
-
cd
to the above directory and run SimModeler. Go to the Fusion tab. - Hit XGC Setup and choose xgc Executable (location to
xgc_meshgen
) using the file dialog. - Hit XGC Wall Edit and choose a new filename where the modified wall will go (e.g.
wm_wallcurve.txt
). - This will bring up the original wall contour.
- Specify a range of contours in the available fields (e.g. Min 0.5, Max 1.2, Delta 0.1) and hit Update to show those contours.
- Any points on the wall can now be modified by clicking on them with the mouse, which brings up a plus sign, and dragging the sign. Click Update to redraw (after changing contours if needed).
- When done manipulating, click the XGC Wall Edit button to close it, and open XGC Input. Here select the
eqdsk
file and the wall file (wm_wallcurve.txt
) used above. Hit Apply. Close the XGC Input popup when ready to view the geometric model and mesh on the changed wall. - If anything fails, please clean out the directory of all but
xgc_mesh_in
and reactor input files, and redo from scratch. - Please report problems and feedback to Simmetrix support.
- Currently only existing points can be manipulated.
- Only dragging is supported.
