At SSW we have a lot of presenters that not only present but also publish videos on YouTube.
It's also important to respond to the comments we get on the YouTube videos so that we remain engaged with the audience even after the video has been published.

Maybe we could have a "Most popular new video of the month" award to celebrate views and likes?

For example, Jason got a massive spike of views (200k+ and 60k+) but we didn't celebrate that.

Great idea.

Incentivize:

  • commenting on videos
  • sharing/likeing
  • every YouTuber question answered by staff grants points
  • Points for recording videos (they can book a time with the TV team)
  • once their video is up, they get rewards/points based on the number of views (as JK suggested it can be based on views reached e.g. 1k, 5k 10k, 20k, etc.)

If we can tailor rewards to certain types of input from users, we could incentivise staff to book recording sessions with the TV team. The reward would have to be something greater than normal, or the overall points awarded should be higher so they're more likely to reach the reward they want (e.g. annual leave).
